Michal Chmielinski, an MSc in Business Management graduate from Poland, has been awarded a Belt and Road Scholarship (Research Postgraduate) for the 2019/20 academic year by the HKSAR Government. This will allow Michal to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the HKBU School of Business. Michal is one of only three HKBU students offered this highly competitive and prestigious scholarship.
With a quota of up to 20 students each year across nine institutions in Hong Kong, the scholarship is set up to attract outstanding non-local students from regions along the Belt and Road to further their research postgraduate studies in Hong Kong. It covers full tuition fees for the duration of programme subject to good academic performance.
“With this generous scholarship, I am glad that I can further my research postgraduate study in HKBU because my supervisor is an excellent researcher in the field I am interested in,” said Michal. “Thanks to the frequent conversations with my professors over the past year, I understood that pursuing an academic position is a perfect career path for me considering my passion for research and knowledge discoveries. I am looking forward to my PhD study at HKBU.”
